Established in 2005 as one of 25 National Cancer Institute funded Community Networks Programs (CNPs),
MassCONECT (Massachusetts Community Networks to Eliminate Cancer Disparities through Education,
Research and Training), funded for five years, focuses on reducing cancer disparities in underserved,
diverse communities. The project is led by Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and the Dana Farber Cancer
Institute (DFCI). MassCONECT unites community-based organizations, academia, government and local health departments
in three Massachusetts cities: Boston, Lawrence (Mayor's Health Task Force) and Worcester.
